- Shoes care
It's a little routine to get into.
Here's what you need to do for this suede model: you need to waterproof it with a suede waterproofing spray (we also sell them in our shoe repair section). This protects from stains and water and will optimize the longevity and good holding of the leather over time. Then a shot of Sublim Suede to revive the colour of your shoes, with a crepe brush if possible.
For your leather soles: we give you temporary sole protective pads, so that you don't slip the first few times. But we recommend that you take them to your shoemaker when you receive your pair so that you can have real skates put on them. Your shoes will only last longer.
Well the idea was not to advertise our shoemaker but to give you some tips to keep this little jewel as long as possible.
The Pied de Biche Chukka stands out by the quarter strip detail that matches the uppers sides. It is their small touch of fantasy, often copied and loved! The contrasting backstrap is part of the Pied de Biche DNA!
Fully lined with cowhide leather
All Pied de Biche shoes are fully lined with calf leather! These leathers are soft and durable.
This small luxury is a guarantee of softness and longevity, and therefore of comfort.
The leathers used for the shoe upper are either greased leathers, calfskin leather or smooth cowhide leathers. We prefer very natural leathers with a vegetable or semi-vegetable tanning.
Our artisans are extremely careful and cautious during the cutting phase, in order to select the most beautiful parts of the skin to ensure you enjoy the most beautiful, soft and comfortable shoes.
Leather sole or crepe sole
The leather sole brings maximum elegance. It is also a material with natural breathability.
Crepe soles are natural, with a rough and irregular surface: a rubber sheet that reinforces the soles of the shoes. They give the shoe a natural and casual look.
We decided to add to the classic Chukka style these beautiful stitches! They add a touch of originality to these sleek boots!
The leather sole is attached to the upper by a Blake stitch. This technique guarantees both flexibility and finesse. Blake stitching also guarantees great longevity, since your cobbler is able to re-sole your Chelsea boots.
Beveled top piece
The 2.5 centimeter heel is made out of leather. The heel block top piece is beveled with at the back a natural rubber pad and at the front a leather layer.
Handcrafted for your feet
Our shoes are the keepers of a precious craftsmanship that we found right within the European capital of the shoe in Portugal: Porto. It is there, that our artisans invest their whole selves to insure the high quality of the shoes throughout the year.
At Pied de Biche, we make a point of highlighting the hard work provided by those incredibly talented hands, without which we would be nothing, or at least, not much.
Chukka for gentlemen
It was in winter 2016
We missed an unmissable in the man catalog Pied de Biche. This model was the Chukka: a model that could be worn in the office as well as to visit grandma.
These boots Chukka for men, it is since winter 2016 that it does not leave us. Today we present you the 3rd of the name, which has taken a new wave of youth.
For this new version, we worked a lot the yoke area at the laces. This time, it is more obvious, more contrasting. It's more dressed and on a shoe that wants to be casual, we found it clever.
It also reinforces our bias: the bi-material on each of our shoes. Here it is on the quarters that the material is different from the rest of the shoe. Perfect to combine this Chukka with most of your clothes.
Sewn blake: a guarantee of quality
The soles are joined to the upper thanks to the Blake sewn: a sign of quality and durability. It's thanks to the Blake mount that you can design shoes that are softer, more elegant and thinner than most shoes on the market. Do not forget to put a skate at the shoemaker's. In the meantime, we offer you a temporary pad. Hop.
Very fat leather Or crafty nubuck
We present you 2 models :
Chukka boots in fat leather: guarantee of a resistant and waterproof shoe, while bringing a maximum of flexibility. This is the leather we chose for 2 models of the Chukka.
Suede Chukka boots (velvet calfskin): more dandy and more casual. It's okay with everything. For example, imagine them with raw jeans: it slaps eh.
These men's Chukka boots are flexible and that's thanks to the lining. It is made of natural cowhide - a leather that is applied on all our models of shoes (sneakers included). Also known for its resistance and breathability properties.
Laces well made
Another advantage of this shoe Chukka V3 thanks to the inserts: the laces are proportioned differently, they are arranged so that is more elegant. This is a detail that will not deceive the most aficionados of you.
Our laces are waxed cotton. They are neither too thin nor too thick. Fine. Elegant. Visually something is happening. It's also that kind of touch that reinvents timeless things like these Chukka.
High, but not too high!
Just below the ankle
These Chukka boots are "Ankles Boots" man, shoes but not too high, that is to say a pair that does not rise higher than the ankle. The higher it is, the more formal it is. The less it is, the easier it is to wear. See?
The highlight of the show
For the heel, it's as usual: we stick it, then we nail it and we insert it directly half a skate. Like that behind you are good.
