- Shoes care
For this model in smooth leather: it requires a bit of patience but the task is not completely unpleasant.
This model is made of a more delicate natural leather. To care for your shoes, you are advised to gently rub the leather with a soft cloth and a shine brush. Due to its natural properties, this type of leather does not require any extra care.
Then apply shoe polish of the same colour to the leather to revive its colour. And if you still have 30 seconds: waterproof to avoid rain and mud stains. We have everything we need in our shoemaker's shop, don't hesitate.
And for your leather soles: we give you a temporary skate, so you don't slip everywhere the first few times. But we recommend that you take them to your shoemaker when you receive your pair so that you can have real skates put on them. Your shoes will only last longer.
In case of doubt, do not hesitate to contact our customer service.
On this sneaker, the colored inserts are made of goat-velvet. It's beautiful, it's soft and it's not complicated to maintain. They are carefully selected and hand-cut. For the record, each one requires a specific mold, all custom made for the Frisco V3.
No secret: good quality leather guarantees your shoes longevity. So its selection is of crucial importance. To develop the Frisco V3, we went to Italy to find it in a renowned tannery: Faeda, founded in 1956 and certified Leather Working Group.
The Cousu Strobel
The "Cousu Strobel" is an assembly technique in which the insole (what you have under your foot) is sewn directly to the shoe upper (what you have on your foot). To preserve the flexibility of the materials, this process is only applied to sneaker models.
In addition to being flexible and comfortable, the Frisco V3''s sole is made from recycled rubber and has a high level of abrasion resistance (rating 140). "Huh?!" By definition, abrasion is the action of wearing down by friction. Basically, the higher its level, the more resistant the sole will be.
Handcrafted for your feet
Our shoes are the keepers of a precious craftsmanship that we found right within the European capital of the shoe in Portugal: Porto. It is there, that our artisans invest their whole selves to insure the high quality of the shoes throughout the year.
At Pied de Biche, we make a point of highlighting the hard work provided by those incredibly talented hands, without which we would be nothing, or at least, not much.
In addition to being supple and comfortable, the Frisco V3's sole is made from recycled rubber and its resistance level to abrasion is high (140 index). "What ?!" By definition, abrasion it's the action of wearing down by friction. Basically, the higher it is, the more resistant the sole.
THE STROBEL CONSTRUCTION
Before anything else, a sewn in sole allows your shoes to last for a longer period of time. Now, let's get into the thick of things : more than just a savoir-faire, the "Strobel Construction" is a construction technique within which, the first insole (what you have under your foot) is directly sewn to the the shoe's upper (what you have on your foot). To preserve the fabrics' suppleness, this process can only be applied to sneakers.
And of course, the Frisco V3 also benefits from the well known lateral stitching.
On these sneakers, the coloured yokes are made in goatskin suede. It's beautiful, it's smooth and it's easy to care for (we'll get back to that soon). They are carefully selected with thoroughness and are artisanally cut using a leather cutting device. For the anecdote, each of them requires a specific mold, all of them custom made for the Frisco V3.
